Meet Evelyn!

I’ve been a very active person ever since I can remember; growing up I was a gymnast, I was a sprinter, and in high school danced on the Pom Pom team. I have always enjoyed dancing and fitness classes, taking multiple aerobics classes, Zumba, pilates, weight lifting at the gym, group HIIT classes, yoga etc.

As a wife and mom to 3 amazing kiddos , who also had a full time career working with children, it was imperative that I was able to focus on my well being and health,so I made time for myself to exercise and be active to be the best version of myself that I can be.

In 2011 at nearly 40 years old I suffered a knee injury, tearing my ACL and medial meniscus causing me to slow down quite a bit and that’s when I really dove deep into yoga.

The healing power of yoga really was instrumental in rehabbing my knee but the benefits went so much deeper than that!Discovering the mind body healing connection was so powerful that it was only natural that I took my 200 hr yoga teacher training, which was heavy in Traditional Chinese Medicine , Taoist philosophy, meditation, qi gong, Ayurveda and yoga philosophy. I am so grateful to have been able to train and continue to learn under amazing teachers and mentors. I began to see yoga as a way of being ,living my life even off the mat through yoga philosophy. I love to learn and to teach and throw myself fully into things I’m passionate about. This lead me to become a certified children’s yoga specialist, bringing yoga and mindfulness to children; WHAT A JOY!!

As a lover of movement and dance I later took a Zen Barre teacher training.

Throughout my many years as a yogi, still gaining all the benefits of yoga and its healing through movement and mindfulness, I was then drawn to YIN teacher training, which is a holistic practice getting deep into the tissues of the body and quieting the mind, really going within to listen to what the body is telling you it needs.

You can find me at Mission Scranton and south Abington , where I am truly humbled and honored to be currently teaching Zen Barre and guiding you through YIN, as well as maintaining my own practice as an ever learning student.
