Meet Amanda!

Yoga found me in 2017 and it has been bringing so much joy to my life ever since then. I left my first class feeling like a new person mentally, physically, and emotionally. The bad week I’d been having was completely erased by those 60 minutes. I started practicing yoga regularly and loved pushing my body to try new things. The feeling of being in awe of my body and what it could do was incredible. Three years into my practice, the pandemic changed my relationship with yoga. My practice evolved from physical to peaceful as a way of coping with my burnout. My yoga practice and the self awareness that developed from it were such priceless tools during a difficult period in my life. I completed my teacher training at Mission in 2022 and it renewed my love of yoga - both the practice itself and the community. I feel so blessed to be teaching at Mission with such incredible teachers and curious and engaged students.

In my class, students will find sequencing and modifications for all mobility and experience levels. I try to blend opportunities for exploration with opportunities for peace.  Students are encouraged to take the poses I cue and modify them to make the class their own. I often ask students to check in with their bodies to see how they feel as a way of developing self awareness.

My goal as a teacher is for students to leave class with two things: a little more joy than they walked in with, and appreciation for their bodies and what they can achieve.
